For many rewarding years I taught very talented graphic design students at the university level. In 2002 I directed all of my creative energies towards photography. With great enthusiasm I opened my photography studio in 2010 and never looked back. People ask me what kind of photography I do, and I jokingly say that I photograph anything but weddings and plastic surgery. Actually, I do corporate, product, architectural, aerial, classic cars, and portrait photography, but my professional emphasis and my greatest joy is portrait photography.
Typical commercial portrait photography does not interest me. I am not interested in dishonest flattery with flat commercial lighting. I am interested in finding the unique spirit and character of the person with more natural illumination. That requires getting to know the client on a bit deeper, more personal level than might be expected of a "perfectly" posed, "perfectly" lighted portrait. I try to draw out and capture the full range of candid, natural expressions and gestures. I ask my clients to dress comfortably according to their own personality, and what is most typical of them. I also encourage them to bring personal objects, even pets to which they may have a deep emotional connection. My shooting sessions usually last about an hour, in which I take up to 300 photographs while having a candid and lively conversation with the person. In that way, those 300 photographs are closer to the real portrait from which I and the client chose the most descriptive, most insightful, most honest and empathetic. I want the viewer to wonder what that person is thinking, and perhaps want to get to know them.

I've worked with Chuck off and on for quite some time.
He is creative, very professional, enthusiastic and easy to work with; someone with a joy of life that is infectious.
His portfolio ranges from portraiture to product; location or studio; utilitarian or artistic, and he has his own lab so everything stays
"in house" making the entire production streamlined and easy to manage.
If I need photos, Chuck is the first one I talk with.

I am delighted to write this review for Chuck and his studio at Reel Eyes Photography. I've had Chuck work with me and print about 15 different images in color and black & white, with a variety of papers and canvas, and as large as 24 x 72". Several became prize winners, but all were winners for me! Chuck's background in Art, Photography, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. and his sincere, constructive patience all contribute to bringing out the best in one's photography. His studio setting and equipment are excellent and very convenient as well. I very highly recommend!

Jim did some beautiful aerial photography for me. The prints are beautiful.

Chuck is a caring and great photographer who freely shares his expertise. His printing of my images was also very well executed and allowed me to capture several awards, when image detail and print were of the utmost importance. An expert in so many areas. Go see him!

Chuck photographed our family reunion and did an outstanding job with seven siblings, spouses and their children and two dogs. It was a memorable weekend on Morro Bay and Chuck captured it in an excellent way. He also did individual family groupings as well as the larger group. We will use his services again next time an opportunity comes along.

Chuck Jennings is a consummate professional and that is validated in his artistic endeavors. We have Chuck's art in our home and love how it adds to our decor. It is a pleasure to look and contemplate the thought and accomplishment that shows in Chuck's art.

Chuck takes individual and group photographs of our staff. He is flexible, accommodates all our needs, and gets the individuals in our group to "loosen up", providing really creative / fun images to view.

I've been coming to Chuck's business (formerly Giclee Printing) for a number of years, always with results exceeding expectations to the point I simply got used to it. Not only do they have state-of-the-art photo printing equipment and many different papers to choose from, but often for a special print, the process is side-by-side interactive to dial in precisely the look I'm seeking. And it doesn't hurt that Chuck is a dead-honest businessman and and seasoned photographer himself where that experience has provided helpful suggestions regarding getting the best result for my particular projects. I would recommend Chuck Jennings and ReelEyes Photography without reservation.

We went to the Grand Tetons on our road trip and took some of the best photos. ReelEyes Photography developed them in to very oversized prints. The prints were beautiful. No flaws, beautiful color and just what we wanted. I would highly recommend ReelEyes Photography to anyone who appreciates great quality. Thank you for the awesome job. Judy
